Reprieve

Dropped the deposit off with the new landlord yesterday, turns out we don’t have to start the lease till the 15th, so I have a 5 day reprieve… whew.

Today’s Mom’s last day here, we’re going to try to go see Spirit today, I’ll let you know how it was and then we’re going to have dinner with the kids. I wish she could stay a bit longer I could really use the help and she’s been a huge help with the kids this week while I ran around doing all kinds of errands. I’m so busy that I feel like I’m overwhelmed, although I am getting it all done and this is not the first time I’ve moved quickly… not the first time by a long shot.

So, I’m out of here and I’ll probably be scarce till the middle of June. I’ll have a big pool party when I’m settled and you can all come over and we’ll catch up over margaritas in the pool.

hello there it’s been a while

My first instinct is to apologize for not writing anything for four days, but on second thought I’m not going to be presumptuous enough to assume that anyone is hanging on my every word.

The birthday was pretty uneventful. Nice, but uneventful. June 2nd however has proved to be a way more important day.

Remember the house I went to see? I had decided that there were too many obstacles in getting this house, so I abandoned it. Well, yesterday morning, the owner called me and told me that the people they had rented it to had turned out to be terrible pains in the neck and they had decided not to rent to them. I had previously told her that I needed to see the house after the current tenants moved out (it was a horrible mess!) and when I hadn’t heard back from her, I considered it a done deal and moved on. When she called, she told me that the tenants were gone and if I was still interested, she’d like me to come look and fill out an application. My mother and I took a ride with the kids and man, this house is fabulous. Four bedrooms, two baths, a huge eat in kitchen, formal dining room, living room, den, a deck off the master suite, a screen room off the den, a lanai off the kitchen leading to the absolutely gorgeous built in pool. The house is on two acres, with a paddock (yeah, I could have a horse if I wanted to) and the community is actually a horse park.

I fell in love, filled out the application, schmoozed with the owner and she called me this morning to tell me that if I wanted the house, it was mine! YAY!

We’re moving in 10 days! ACK! (who wants to come help me pack?) I’m trying to bribe my mother into staying an extra week, but seriously, if anyone can pull this move off, it’s me. I’m the queen of packing and moving. If I told you how many times I’ve moved in this lifetime, you’d think I was lying.

So, if I’m scarce, please forgive me. I’m completely overwhelmed and completely excited!

Oh and did I mention that she gave me a key and told me that if we wanted to go hang out in the pool before we moved in that it was ok with her? Yeah, you may hate me after you’ve known me a while but I give great first impression!
