Well, the thing at the supermarket sucked. My seven year old said, “Mom, let’s go, this is lame.” This is the kid who’ll do anything. I took them to McDonald’s for dinner and decided that tomorrow is a mental health day for all of us. I’m keeping T home from school and we’ll watch movies and eat candy.

The kids are in bed and I bought myself a nice bottle of Merlot to enjoy while I watch some TV… Maybe there’s a good ghost story on.

Tomorrow is Halloween. It’s not the same as it used to be. There’s nothing for the kids to do, trick or treating is just about an impossibility. I’m taking the children to Publix (the supermarket). They’re having a haunted a house and treats. Isn’t that pathetic? When I was a kid, if my mother had taken me to the supermarket for Halloween, I would have been really disappointed. My kids don’t know any better though. They’ve really never experienced a great Halloween. It’s sad, but that’s the kind of world we live in these days. You can’t trust your neighbors, you just don’t know who might be living next door. Sad.

With the passing of Halloween, we’re into the Holiday season and I’m just not ready. I can’t seem to muster up the enthusiasm for it. It’s been a tough year.

What time is it? 4:10? I can not believe how interminable this day is. Every once in a while, I have a bunch of really good days in a row and then just one, one day or hour completely throws me. I’m having one of those days now. It started out bad and only got worse. I’m counting the minutes till bedtime.

I think I’m going to go find some sort of diversion. Hope your day is going better than mine. =/

I’m sure it’s something I’ve done, or not done as the case may be.

I have no idea why, but the refer application just isn’t working.
I know it has communicated with the database, as the tables were set up for from the setupdb file in the application. I didn’t get any errors, and all the tables are there. They’re empty, however. My permissions are set very generously everywhere, so that can’t be it. And the index.php just doesn’t have any information to display.
I put the snippet on my main index and a few other page and it’s been there all afternoon and evening. It’s just not getting the information into the database. I know the database is ok, as the blog is ok, and I set that up today too.

If you’ve got any ideas and would like to leave them here, I’d be most appreciative. Keep in mind I am in no way a PHP guru, so don’t assume that what you’re thinking is too simple and assume that I’ve already done it. Chances are, I haven’t. Oh! But I have tried placing the snippet in different places. Inside the closing html tag, outside it, in the body, outside of the body. Etc. ad nauseous… yes, I mean nauseous.

On that note, I’m going to go have a diet Pepsi and watch a little TV and Go. To. Bed. I’m not getting close to enough sleep lately and it’s really starting to take its toll.
