Who Says You Can’t Go Home Again

We got up at 6 am, Friday morning… Got to Orlando Airport at 5 to 10, the flight was supposed to be 11:25. No such luck. Due to the cancellations of the flights on Christmas, they were still playing catch up. Total delays really only added up to about an hour, but it really seemed like a lot more. The flight, once we actually took off wasn’t bad, the kids enjoyed it also, but man was it a long day.
T took the window seat an as we were descending, he whipped his head around and yelled, “I just realized what all the white stuff is!” Of course it was snow and neither of my children remember seeing snow before.

So What the Hell Am I Still Doing Up?

I’m all packed… I’m exhausted and I have to be up in 5 hours. So what am I still doing up? I have no idea. I’m going to bed very soon, I have to. This late night meandering s*** has to stop, don’t you think?

I’m sure that this is my last post from Florida for now… I’ll “see” you when I get to New York! I’m so excited, I haven’t seen New York in 4 and a half years. There’s so much I want to do and I don’t know that I’ll be able to get to it all in seven days.

Wish me luck and I’ll see you from Long Island tomorrow!

ARGH!

What the heck was I thinking? The presents aren’t even really set up yet and I’m in the midst of packing to leave for NY tomorrow?! What am I, nuts? Nevermind, don’t answer that.

Not to mention the foot of snow they got last night. The main reason I don’t live there is the snow. I hate snow, with a passion unmatched by any other. I’m supposed to drive into NYC on Sunday, Monday, and probably Friday. I haven’t driven in icy conditions in half a decade. I’m so not ready for this. I don’t have boots, the kids don’t have boots. I’m praying for a heatwave.

I went to Toys R Us this morning to exchange two pieces of clothing that I got for H. Would they let me just exchange it? No, I had to wait in one line where at the end of the wait, they looked at my receipt, made me fill in my address and then hurry up and get on another line to refund my money. Then I had to go find the sizes in the clothing that I needed and get back on line and purchase them. It was idiotic and I told all of them that in a rather loud voice. I’m sure I’m not going to win customer of the year awards there. But Jesus, how stupid is that? Then the cashier wouldn’t let me use my finger to put in my PIN, canceled the order and made me use the stylus. I use my finger all the time on those registers… she told me it’s always wrong when someone uses their finger and it takes too long. Oh, and you cancelling the order and re-entering it didn’t??? Idiot.

Anyway, I’m home now, I’m getting packed and I’m ready to pop a couple of those pretty little pills the doctor gave me… =)

Very Nice

The roast is almost done, the bread pudding is ready to go in the oven and we’re almost ready to go… =) I love to cook, have I mentioned that?

I am in complete and utter denial about my flight on Friday. I am thoroughly convinced that I really don’t have much to do and can just sit around and play Kingdom Hearts tomorrow. Ha!

Ok, I’m going to go clean up some of the wrapping paper in the living room. Oh, and take some pics, the media reader is definitely one of the coolest things I own. Up until today I had to swap out the zip drive for the floppy to use the adapter to transfer the pics. Hence my reluctance to take pictures. How lazy am I?

Hope you’re all having a wonderful day!

The Children (and Jim) were nestled all snug in their beds…

All of the presents are wrapped and under the tree, I swear I want to open the PS2 and play with it myself! There is a very large present under the tree for me (I think it’s a scanner, the one I bought in 96 is just plain dead and I’ve been hinting), Jim’s present is still in my trunk, I got him a desk and I just can’t bring it in by myself. Jim couldn’t stay up and longer and went to bed himself and I just watched a Judy Garland Christmas special that was really wonderful! I have to say that that’s how I’d like my life to look. Friends coming over for Christmas and everyone sings and dances… what could be better than that?
Probably that’s my problem. I expect everything to look like a Christmas special from the sixties. And honestly, I could live with a dress that had a marabou collar and sleeves, yes I could.

It’s almost 1:30 and I know I should go to bed, but there’s something about Christmas Eve that makes me want to stay up. Somehow I still listen for Santa’s sleigh and every year I’m sure that I hear it.

oh well, Merry Christmas… =)
