You know, I wouldn’t mind drinking coffee out of mugs from some of my favorite blogs… But I have to say 12 bucks for a coffee mug is a little steep. Excuse me, $16 when you add shipping. I don’t know, I might pay $8 total, but $16? I don’t think so. Shame, that. I’d like some blog coffee cups. A whole collection even.

You know how you have days when you thank God that you had children? When you can’t imagine your life without these little blessings?
Today was not one of those days.
From the minute I got out of bed until the little monsters darlings fell asleep, they did nothing but give me s***. All. Day. Long.
I was very glad to see this day end. Tomorrow is another day, thank God.

So I’ve been doing the low carb thing for a couple of weeks now. I don’t own a scale yet (too depressing) but I am monitoring weight loss/gain by underpantology. You know, if the underpants are loose, I’m losing. Yes, very technical. The thing is; they ARE looser! May go buy scale today.
Last night I made a great stew in the Easy Bake Oven (crockpot).
1lb. of stew meat
1 large can crushed tomatoes (just tomatoes, no sugars! – Progresso works)
1/2 can beef broth
1 jar sliced mushrooms
4 cloves garlic chopped
1 bag frozen pearl onions
Worcestershire sauce (however much you like – I like lots! At least 15 vigorous shakes)
Italian seasonings (whatever you like)
sea salt and pepper (fresh ground)
Brown meat in large skillet with a little bit of olive oil.
Transfer meat to crockpot, add all ingredients
cook on low 8 or 9 hours.
I served it over mashed cauliflower. Boil frozen cauliflower a little longer than package says. Drain, return to pot. Using a hand mixer, start on low speed. Add a touch of heavy cream, a bit of butter and mix till smoothish.
Salt and pepper to taste.
I spooned the cauliflower onto a plate, topped with the steaming hot stew from the crock pot and ate it with gusto. Yum.

Wasn’t that perfect? I cried, I’ll admit it. And I laughed and I gasped and I screamed. I poured myself a margarita and sat back and enjoyed what will be the last time we probably find anything out about these characters for a while. I’m crossing my fingers for the feature-length movie that everyone seems to be talking about.
This show has meant a lot to me. I’ve lived 1500 miles from my very best girlfriends for almost six years now. I know what it is to have these kinds of relationships and I know what it is to try to maintain them long distance. It’s hard. It’s worth it, it’s doable, but there’s nothing like getting together regularly with the sisters of your heart to talk about everything in your life; to use them as a barometer for the things that happen to you and how you react to them.
I’m going to miss this show very much. And I’m grateful that it lasted as long as it did. I think the writers have been brilliant and the actors have portrayed these characters beautifully.
