Well, this morning I did the first walk-through with the builder. This is crazy… I can’t believe it’s actually happening. I adore the house and I can’t believe I’m going to own it in 7 days. Crazy, right? Um, anyone out there able to get me a discount on a washer and dryer? You know, the red one?

So today, a friend sent me pictures of her cabin on the river – which I have been dying to see. I anxiously double clicked the first one and waited for Photoshop to do its dance. You know the one… load, initialize, update, etc… except that when I looked again, it was gone. Apparently, it closed itself. I tried again. This time I watched as it went through the plug-ins, brushes, fonts… poof! Gone again. A third and then a fourth try yielded the same result. I Googled “Photoshop won’t open” and came across this:
1. Load Adobe Photoshop
 2. QUICKLY press Crtl+Alt+Shift on load to reset settings (right
on load, and be fast – it took me several tries).
Everything is back to normal now! Phew…
So, I tried that and now everything is working again. Just thought I’d share that with you.

I’ve been pretty busy lately… Closing on our house, redoing the jewelry site, packing, ending certain business relationships, starting new ones, etc. I was cleaning out my bookmarks and logged into blogrolling.com for the first time in years. The last time I logged in, I wasn’t able to access my blogroll – the service had just been sold and they wanted to me to pay a fee for continued access. I’m more than willing to pay for things that I use, but honestly I hadn’t been blogging much and didn’t see the need to continue. I never did, however, delete the account. I logged in tonight on a whim and surprisingly, I was able to access it. Apparently they decided to charge for upgraded services and provide basic for free. I added the code back to my blogrolling page and started to visit blogs that I haven’t even thought about in a couple of years. Unfortunately, most of them are gone – without a forwarding address, which is sad, but we all need to move on in our own direction, no? There were some that were still there and it was fun to catch up with some old “friends”.
Anyway, I started thinking about how far I’ve come, what I’ve been doing and where I’m going now. I bought colormepink.com in March of ‘02… I can’t believe it’s been five and a half years. (Even more insane is that dancingstar.net is almost 10 years old! But I digress.) We’re coming to the end of the year and it’s time to reassess – what are my goals? What are my dreams and how are they different from the ones in previous years. Lots to think about…

This reminds me why I started homeschooling in the first place. Everytime I think that I’m starting to get a little burned out, or start to second guess why we do what we do, it’s not hard to find evidence that we’re doing the right thing.

when you’re sitting on the phone and it’s ringing and ringing and you’re waiting for the person to answer and your mind starts drifting and then they answer and you can’t remember who you called? Yeah, me too.
