PDF As I sit here, I can actually hear the air conditioning kicking on, the dog sighing, the fan on the computer running softly in the background, the sound of my fingers on the keys clicking as I type. There is no television on, no music playing from one room or another. It’s just quiet.
Jim is off today and has taken the children on his errand run. The dry cleaner, the bank, to go buy some pants. I am doing nothing. I’m not catching up on phone calls, not working, not doing laundry.
There is so much noise in life. Children, telephones, television, work, chores, talking, talking, talking. Too often I forget to just sit in silence. Just sit. My life is big. I do so many things; I’m usually busy and I prefer it that way but every once in a while, it’s good to just sit and listen to the silence.
