It’s My Number Now!

Dear Ms. Rivera,

A few months ago, I switched to AT&T as my cell phone provider because I needed a certain phone that only AT&T could give me. They issued to me, what I thought was a rocking phone number (I’m a big fan of good phone numbers). However, in these few, short months, I’ve begun to dislike aforementioned rocking number because it used to belong to you.

Apparently you have some issues as I’ve been called by your child’s school, his therapist, his social worker and his probation officer on several different occasions. Now I know that it’s very possible to forget to notify people about your change in phone number, but I can only assume at this point that you’re hiding from someone or something, but really, if there were an emergency at the school what would happen to your son if they couldn’t reach you?

This morning I got a phone call from an irate man who refused to believe that I wasn’t you and threatened me with legal action if I didn’t take care of the situation. I told him that if he didn’t stop calling, I would be forced to notify the Sherrif’s department and since I had his number on caller ID, I was pretty sure that the police would be able to figure out who he was.

Ms. Rivera, I’m begging you. Please, please notify these people that you no longer have this number. I know you’d be shocked at how much information people share with me in an effort to get me to admit that I know you, or know how you can be reached. I’m worried for you, I’m worried for your son and most of all I’m worried about how many of my minutes are eaten up each month explaining that I have no idea who you are.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely

The girl with the rocking, yet regrettable phone number.

What’d you get… like 867-5309 or something? That’d be pretty cool! (I got it, I got it, I got your number off the wall. I got it, I got it, for a good time caaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllll— heeehhee)

Google the phone number and see if it’ll give you any info on the old owner. Then call her and tell her to get her damn kid in line and take her of her business! Dayum!
