It seems they don’t make the lowcarb ketchup anymore, and the regular ketchup is full of evil crap high fructose corn syrup, so what’s a girl to do? Make her own, of course.
1 6 oz. can of tomato paste
1 8 oz. can of tomato sauce (check the ingredients, we don’t want any funky stuff here)
1 T. Worcestershire Sauce
4 T. Splenda *Updated* I’m using 2 packets of Truvia now – I like its origins better than Splenda, but I’m still looking to improve.
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (I’ve also used minced onion here about a teaspoon, but I was out of them)
put all ingredients in a bowl, whisk until blended. When you taste this, be careful – you really want to chill it before you start adding more ingredients as it tastes more mellow when it’s chilled.
I’m also starting to experiment with other sweeteners as I’m not as in love with fake sugar as I used to be, although anything’s better than evil crap HFCS.

Home made ketchups are way way better than coomercial ketchups. This to me wastes so well.

Sounds good. I wrote this one done to try. There are some ketchups out there with no HFCS. But they do have other stuff you may not like. Since it’s not a huge amount of sugar, could you use raw or the organic sugar?
lol! I have not found one that I love – but ever hopeful, I keep searching. Just as long as you’re not using HFCS, you’re ok in my book.
You’ll probably never speak (blog) to me again, but I am in love with Sweet N Low. I know (blah blah blah) it creates cancer in rats. Sorry, but I have never found another sweetener that tastes half as good as that. If you’ve found a healthier alternative that you love, more power to you!
