I had a birthday a couple of weeks ago and it was really just the nicest, low key, kind of thing. I used to make a huge deal about it, but the economy and the things that people are struggling with this year made me want to just tone it down a little. I didn’t make any plans, deciding to play it by ear. We celebrated the day before my actual birthday because my husband is in the car business and you don’t ever get the first of the month off. Ever. It was a lovely day and we really had a very nice time. Next year’s a big one, so I’m going to expect a blow out, I’m just sayin’.
Anyway, my Aunt and Uncle, who happen to be my Godparents, sent me the most delicious, unbelievable, scrumptious cake. It was delivered in the cutest box and the while we intended to have fruit for dessert, we quickly changed the plan. This was so much better! Moist, tart, dense bundt cake with this fabulous glaze to pour over. Can you say “Yum!”?
From their website:
Chosen as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things 2004!
Our most popular cake (by a nose over the triple chocolate chip fudge cake), it’s a special treat for our northern friends suffering through another cold winter. Our secret? Each cake is individually showered with a key lime juice blend while cooling.
Is your mouth watering yet? Yeah it was amazing. No I have not been compensated in any way for writing this, although if the good people at We Take the Cake need reviewers, I’d be happy to help. Call me.
