I agree with the comments here. You really don't have to explain to other people because no matter what you say to them they will still keep on judging you and your kids. These are those people that have insecurities. They are finding negative characteristics to others so that they will be able to cover the negative aspects that they possessed. Homeschoolers can still have time to socialize with their friends on the neighborhood, with their relatives, and most especially with their families. When you have homeschoolers, you must really find ample time to talk and play with them, as they are not like regular students who have many classmates.

I've heard this over and over from people that know me very well, and each time I call them on it and tell them to point out reasons they think my kids aren't getting enough socialization they say that my kids are the exception! NO THEY'RE NOT! If my kids are their only example of what homeschoolers look like, why do they think other homeschoolers aren't as socialized as mine? We are judgmental people, I guess and we jump to conclusions all too quickly:)

You're absolutely right! It's the thing brought up the most that I need to worry about the least! Good luck, whatever you decide and if I can help, please don't hesitate to ask! Thanks for stopping by.

My girls are still little but I've been exploring the homeschooling option for many reasons. When I tell people I'm thinking about it, they ALL bring up the socialization issue. From my research, it seems like there are innumerable options for homeschoolers to socialize that it would be the least of my worries!
