A few years ago, my husband came home from work, completely in love with a song that he did not know the title or artist of. We spent the evening Googling snippets of the lyrics that he could remember. This went on for a couple of days, he’d remember every time he heard the song and he was sure the name of it was California… something. Finally, one day he heard the song on the radio and jotted down as many of the lyrics as he could. We Googled all the lyrics and were finally able to find the song. It’s “Nothing Left to Lose” by Mat Kearney. We listened to that song over and over and over again.
So, recently when I got an email from One2One Network asking if I wanted to review Mat Kearney’s new album “Young Love“, I jumped.
The teaser was the video for the first single “Hey Mama” which is about Kearney meeting his wife for the first time and it’s so sweet and upbeat that I was hooked.
I received the album about a week ago and the rest of it is just as good as I expected it to be. Great hooks, upbeat yet still soulful. I’m always listening to music, especially when I’m in the kitchen and this album is a delight. The whole album just makes you feel good, but I think my favorite song is “Count On Me”, I love the addition of the children’s voices.
The whole family likes this album, and I’m really glad to have been a part of this!
